Salary: $75,846 - $120,000

Basic Function

Learning and Technology Resources (LTR) Division includes the following units and services: Library, Academic support lab/tutoring, Testing/assessment services, technology support and training for faculty and staff, instructional design support. These services support the wide variety of programs offered on campus and help to create an environment conducive to student learning and optimal job performance by faculty and staff. All LTR units work closely with all personnel and units across the campus. The Dean upholds the mission and vision of NOVA and the NOVA-Medical Education Campus by providing a vision, the leadership and creating a culture that enables the Division and staff to be integral and effective in meeting the goals of the division, the college and the campus.

Duties and Responsibilities

The LTR Dean works closely with the members of the Provost Staff to assist in the execution of the respective division goals and objectives. The Dean provides vision and leadership to the division. Responsible for the recruitment, development and evaluation of personnel in the division. Develops and provides oversight for the division budget and other funds assigned to the division. Advises the Provost and the members of the Provost Staff on related issues/ opportunities that would enable the units to better serve students and function better. The Dean is responsible for working with the LTR leadership team to set and measure goals for the division. Works closely with appropriate units and individuals across NOVA, the VCCS and the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Library/Information Science, Higher Education, Educational Technology or related field. Minimum of three years experience providing direct management and supervision of comprehensive higher educational division (library, academic support, instructional and information technology); in personnel management; in budget planning/management;Strong administrative experience (to include organizational skills, budget planning/management, preparation, execution and assessment of unit goals); MS Office Suite and Classroom Management Systems (CMS); developing/providing instructional support for faculty/staff; providing distance learning assistance; working with diverse cultures/clientele and learning abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree in a related field; five years managerial experience in a higher education library or similar unit.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Demonstrated learner-centered orientation to all program/personnel development. Solid background in instructional leadership of comprehensive higher educational division to include academic support, library, instructional and information technology. Demonstrated leadership experience
