JOB SUMMARY: To provide leadership in the assessment, design, development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of the use of technology within the Lincoln School Distrcit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties as may be assigned.
v Coordinate with the department of information technology (ADE) to establish a clear, long-range vision of ongoing integration of technology into curriculum.
v Plan and implement instructional technology curriculum in alignment with state standards.
v Take a leadership role in developing and implementing the district plan for instructional use of computers to include the implementation plan for evaluation and periodic updating.
v Develop assessment tools for measuring effectiveness of instruction and learning.
v Provide administrative support and training to improve student learning by integrating technology into the curriculum.
v Develop and conduct professional development programs providing skills needed for technology integration in classroom management.
v Increase the awareness of the identities and roles of the instructional information technology staff.
v Collaborate in the development of the annual district instructional plan.
v Serve as consultant to departments and schools in purchasing hardware, peripherals, and software.
v Develop partnerships with other districts, institutions of higher education, community colleges, business and industry, and other entities to expand student and faculty courses and programs.
v Research external funding opportunities for integration of technology proposals, and manage grant funds.
v Design and manage online education programs.
v Collaborate with the department of information technology to research problems associated with the delivery of distance education.
v Disseminate technology-related information throughout the district via news bulletins, electronic main, presentations at district and building level staff meetings, Board of Education meetings, etc.
v Manage and maximize use of district computing technology.
v Clarify and publicize intellectual property rights for electronic media.
v Perform duties associated with being a member of various curriculum and technology related committees.
v Provide data management support.
v Supervise technology staff.
v Consult with departments and schools in the administration of the technology funds.
v Remain technologically competent. Continue to grow as a professional technology educator and as an educational leader.

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
v Bachelor's Degree in Educational Technology or related field preferred
v Experience in curriculum development, technology and leadership
v Distance education delivery experience
v State and national compliance experience
v Such alternatives to the above as the Superintendent or designee may find appropriate and acceptable
v Experience with Windows and Apple server and client hardware/software
v Windows Server 2012 HA environment with Hyper-V
v Google Apps for Education, APSCN, eSchool, and Cognos
v Dell EqualLogic SAN, Aerohive Wireless, Cisco Routing/Switching, Palo Alto Firewall

GENERAL AND TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
v A broad and general education and dedication to lifelong learning. Overall intelligence and perseverance; a strong work ethic; high ethical standards; self-confidence; good time management skills; budgeting and other fiscal skills.
v Knowledge of and support for the district's educational system; appropriate skills in teaching school children as well as educators and other adults. Knowledge of curriculum, curriculum development, and school reform. Knowledge of testing and assessment.
v Interpersonal relations skills, especially in being a good listener, skills in written and oral communications; administrative skills. Good telephone and electronic mail communications skills.
v Technical knowledge in the fields of computer science, computer education, and the broad range of technologies used in hypermedia environments. Knowledge of theory and practice of instructional technology. Substantial experience in working with students and educators in instructional technology field. Knowledge of teaching and learning theory as they relate to the roles of technology in content and pedagogy.

FINANCES:
Understand the district budget, budgeting process, and spending process, and work within this system to secure adequate resources for instructional computing. Help to ensure that school-level budgets and district budget adequately support the district's instructional technology plan. Be especially aware of equity issues when doing budgeting and distributing resources. Work with administration and faculty to write grants for implementation of technology related educational programs.
