Mount Vernon Presbyterian School seeks a versatile, dynamic, and proactive technologist to serve as the Technology Support Specialist for the Glenn Campus. This person will join an already outstanding team for the 2017-2018 school year and will serve the faculty, staff, and students on Mount Vernon’s Glenn Campus, which houses Grades 7-12. The Specialist’s main responsibility will be to ensure that the faculty and staff have the technology they need to perform their job duties, and that they know how to best utilize that technology.

 

Role description:

  • Full-time support role; reports to Information Technology Manager
  • Be an active, visible, and engaged presence within the overall life of the School
  • Provide first-level support for the School network
  • Provide first-level support for various enterprise software systems, which may include data entry and general technical support
  • Provide first-level support for faculty and staff Mac/PC laptops and desktops, printers and copiers, and desktop productivity software
  • Diagnose and repair problems with classroom technology (ClearTouch, AppleTV, etc.)
  • Manage Chromebook program for students in Grades 7-8
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all MVPS technology equipment, which includes classroom technology, loaner computers, A/V equipment, cables, extension cords, etc.
  • Assist faculty and staff with miscellaneous technology needs, such as A/V setup for presentations
  • Serve as a technology mentor and advocate for faculty, staff, and students
  • Lead in designing opportunities for professional learning and development for faculty and staff
  • May include teaching or co-teaching technology modules in any division
  • Pursue professional development opportunities to remain current with technology in education
  • Be actively involved with outside technology groups, such as AATE or ISTE, in order to connect the School with the surrounding community and community members
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience supporting technology in education
  • Experience with a range of software, hardware, and operating systems
  • Strong Apple support and management skills
  • Strong Google Suite for Education support and management skills
  • Highly effective communicator in both written and spoken media
  • Capacity to work flexibly, independently, and collaboratively in a fast-paced and ambitious environment with minimal supervision
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
