Ray's education technology experience spans nearly three decades in numerous schools and associations. Ray earned a BA in History from the University of California, Berkeley, and a MA in Education from Stanford University.

Ray taught math, computer science, and technology for over a decade at a variety of San Francisco Bay Area public schools and districts. Building on that experience, he spent over 20 years as Director of Educational Technology at Head Royce School in Oakland, a K-12 independent co-ed day school. During that time, he has served on and chaired numerous WASC accreditation visits. Ray has also been active in CAIS and CUE, in particular serving as the conference chair for the CUE annual conference for several years.

As a veteran manager of school technology programs, Ray has deep experience overseeing both academic technology and information technology projects. He has hired, mentored, counseled, and supported dozens of professionals in both areas of education technology.
