Interim, Part-Time Contractor (2025 - 2026)
For the 2025 - 2026 school year, a school in the East Bay region (Oakland / Berkeley / Emeryville / Alameda) of the San Francisco Bay Area is considering the possibility of engaging with an interim, part-time contractor to support general administration of its IT department. This interim, part-time, contract opportunity would require regular (weekly) on-site presence, but could also include the possibility of some remote work. The interim, part-time contractor would be asked to support project and vendor coordination, attend regular planning meetings with the leadership team and other departmental directors, augment the network and systems skills of existing staff, and ensure that the department is running smoothly week in and week out.
The department has two full-time IT professionals that focus on help desk and general systems administration. The department's director-level position unexpectedly came open this summer. Rather than rush to make a full-time hire, the school will run a full, national search this fall to identify a new director. The new director will be expected to start next summer, on or before July 1, 2026. (For anyone interested in the full-time position, please be patient: a full posting and hiring process will be published around September or October.) In the meantime, the school is considering the possibility of engaging with an interim, part-time contractor to help with this transitional year (2025 - 2026).
How to Apply
If you are interested and available to serve as an interim, part-time contractor to a school in the East Bay region (Oakland / Berkeley / Emeryville / Alameda) of the San Francisco Bay Area, please send am email to interimopportunity@edtechrecruiting.com, with the subject line "East Bay Interim." Please include either a résumé or CV, along with any other information about your skills, availability, expertise, and interest. (Third-party MSPs are welcome to express interest, but note that the school prefers to work with a single project manager who would provide consistent, on-site presence.)
We are helping the school to identify possible contractors and other third-party solutions. Ultimately, the school leadership will determine whether to enlist the services of an interim, part-time contractor for the 2025 - 2026 school year.
