Village School seeks a dynamic, motivated, and passionate person to join the Academic Technology team. This full time position serves TK through sixth grade.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Guide students through projects focused on problem-based learning strategies and design thinking
  • Assist with teaching technology classes, with opportunities to take the lead on specific projects
  • Assist with the organization, maintenance, and inventory of materials in the Innovation Studio
  • Support classes, students, and teachers that use the Innovation Studio
  • Promote and model digital citizenship
  • Lead keyboarding units, providing in-classroom instruction at various times during the year
  • Work closely with the Academic Technology team to foster an environment of creative and independent use of technology in all areas of the school

The ideal candidate will

  • Possess a growth mindset and be passionate about technology, constantly seeking new, purposeful curricular uses.
  • Experience working with elementary school students
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree a plus
  • Demonstrate an interest in project-based learning, design thinking and STEM/STEAM education
  • Have working knowledge of educational technologies and basic computer troubleshooting skills
  • Have experience with robotics, digital fabrication, electronics, media production and/or computer science and feel comfortable using a variety of manipulatives (such as Legos, circuit kits, recycled materials) and tools
  • Enjoy collaborating with students and colleagues, be a strong communicator, and have a good understanding of the developmental needs of students in grades TK-6
  • Display excellent organizational and communication skills
