The Academic Technology Coordinator works closely with the Director of Technology and Academic Team to provide leadership for the school’s use of educational and emerging technologies, pedagogies and practices in support of student learning.

The Academic Technology Coordinator is responsible for:

• Provide leadership for design and implementation of 1:1 program
• Oversight of the scope and sequence of technology instruction grades 4 through 12
• Support faculty in innovating and the use of technology in support of student learning
• Design, develop and deliver technology training resources for employees including a variety of delivery methods (printed materials, workshops, videos and screencasts)
• Ongoing research on, and implementation and support of computer applications, emerging technologies, trends and effective practices related to the use of technology in the school’s academic program.

Specific duties will include:

• Maintain technology curriculum map for MS and US outlining ISTE-based technology skills/standards as introduced, reinforced and mastered by students.
• Serve as Chair of the Computer Science Department as needed including attending DC and CASC meetings. Also attend US Division meetings.
• Work with faculty and students to develop and support technology offerings for middle and upper school interims.
• Provide multimedia support to students and employees for assemblies, presentations and other events
• Assist teachers in implementing technology related curriculum in middle and upper school courses as required.
• Develop and implement scope and sequence for curriculum addressing safe & appropriate use
• Conduct technology camps for new upper school students before each academic year begins
• Teach the 8th grade Digital Media course
• Co-teach the 7th grade Computer Science course

• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience with a Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology preferred

• Strong comfort with technology: new software, new hardware and challenges associates with their use
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe products as well as programming and video & audio editing

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit for extended periods of time; and have sufficient hand, arm and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment. The employee works with electric and electronic equipment. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis. Learned physical skill required for keyboarding.
