Sidwell Friends, a coeducational Quaker school with campuses in Washington, DC and Bethesda, MD seeks a full-time Academic Technology Coordinator for its Upper School. The Academic Technology Coordinator is responsible for leading a school-issued laptop program and will serve as an expert in assisting faculty, staff, and students with the integration of technology into the Upper School curriculum.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of technology use in schools, be comfortable collaborating with teachers, and be able to train faculty, staff, and students in technology competencies. They will collaborate with colleagues in the Information Technology Services department to ensure that technology works in a seamless and integrated manner. Duties also include researching software for faculty, keeping abreast of the newest issues and tools in educational technology, working with students in co-curricular activities/clubs, and participating in parent education regarding technology use. Candidates should be self-starters who can balance urgent problem solving with long term projects. They should be excellent communicators, and able to provide differentiated instruction to faculty and students. The most desirable candidates will also be interested and able to coach the robotics team.

A bachelor's degree in an appropriate field is required (master’s preferred), as is at least three years of experience as a classroom teacher, preferably at the upper school level. Candidates with extensive experience using Canvas LMS, Veracross SIS and the Google Suite preferred.

This position is campus-based; therefore, it will require the candidate to work in person. This 11-month, benefits-eligible position begins July 2022, with the option of starting earlier if possible.
