Description

George School, a co-ed, 9-12, Quaker boarding/day school located in Newtown, Bucks County, PA, seeks an experienced educator as a full time Academic Technology Integrationist for the school year 2016-17. The Academic Technology Integrationist (ATI) will assist faculty in all departments to enhance learning through improved integration of technology. The primary role of the ATI is to work collaboratively with classroom teachers to design and implement lessons that incorporate relevant hardware and software, with an end goal to improve learning outcomes. Additionally, the ATI will work to improve the overall technology instructional capabilities of the faculty by providing professional development opportunities and taking a leadership position in relevant committee structures. Other responsibilities may include teaching a class.

Position Requirements

Candidates should have an excellent ability to communicate effectively regarding technology concepts to non-technical users, strong organizational and goal-setting skills, up-to-date knowledge of best practices in educational technology integration, a generalist’s solid mastery of relevant hardware and software for each department, with deeper, more granular knowledge where appropriate, an ability to work collaboratively with faculty of different skills levels and aptitude for technology, and strong communication skills both in writing and oral presentation. Candidates should also possess creativity, flexibility, energy, initiative, diplomacy, compassion, patience and a lively sense of humor. A willingness to fulfill common boarding school duties; the ability to work with a diverse student population; commitment to the traditions and philosophy of a Quaker educational community; and a style consistent with the Quaker testimonies are also important. Highest priority will be given to candidates with three or more years of classroom teaching experience and two or more years of experience educating teachers in the integration of technology.
