About NCCS
New Canaan Country School is a co-ed, independent day school for students in Pre-K (ages 3 & 4) through Grade 9 living in Fairfield and Westchester Counties. Located in New Canaan, CT, and serving 550 students, our mission is to guide students to reach their intellectual, creative, moral, and physical potential. Job Overview: The Academic Technology Coordinator is an integral part of the technology team and provides instructional support and technical assistance to faculty and students. This is a 10-month position reporting to the Director(s) of Technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach academic technology classes ranging from Kindergarten to 9th grade including Maker, Coding, and 3D Design

  • Provide assistance within learning spaces in support of the school’s academic curriculum and events 

  • Assist with academic and administrative technology training

  • Be a collaborative member of the tech department, supporting the help desk and other duties as may become necessary 

  • Provide support of technology across the campus, including hardware and software, to parents, students, faculty, and staff

  • Respond to technology questions/requests and escalate issues as needed

  • Provide user training on basic operations and applications of standard software and systems

  • Serve as co-administrator of school Learning Management System

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

  • Prior teaching experience as an instructional coach, technology integrator, coordinator or comparable role preferred

  • Cultural competency in relationships with adults and children, and can accommodate with care, community members with a mixed range of technological abilities

  • Familiarity with modern technology tools, services and other instruments that have applications both inside and outside the classroom

  • Ability to create and maintain positive and supportive relationships with faculty and administration as well as create collaborative learning groups

  • •    Ability to communicate, translate and share ideas and concepts effectively across diverse, interdisciplinary audiences

  • •    Demonstrated ability to blend technology with sound pedagogy toward educational goals.

  • •    Experience working in an independent school is preferred, but not required.

  • •    Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (NCCS currently uses Blackbaud’s onCampus product)
