Academic Technology Integrator
The Academic Technology Integrator position requires a dynamic and experienced teacher, technologist, and tinkerer with a deep understanding of educational technology and a focus on computational thinking and creative problem solving. This position is essentially half Lower School teaching and half school-wide support, with integration bridging the gap. The Academic Technology Integrator champions and encourages teachers to use technology meaningfully within academic disciplines and through interdisciplinary, project-based work. The role requires flexibility and collaboration to advance the use of technology to support excellent teaching and learning. The Academic Technology Integrator is at the forefront of the evolving technology offerings at Speyer, driving innovation and contributing to the overall school technology vision. This is a full-time, 10-month, salaried position reporting to the Chief Information and Technology Officer and Division Heads. Duties and Responsibilities

Leverage technology to support best practices in pedagogy

Collaborate as a thought-partner for teachers leading project-based work

Guide teachers in using technology for differentiation and formative assessment

Encourage student agency, reflection, collaboration, and creative problem-solving

Support interdisciplinary projects focused on design thinking strategies

Participate/facilitate planning meetings to support the aforementioned responsibilities

Support technology integration and act as a resource for teachers

Collaborate with the Makers Lab Coordinator to enhance technology integration across the school

Teach students both as support and as the primary teacher

Design and teach the Lower School Makers’ curriculum to enhance the existing Computational Thinking scope and sequence through interdisciplinary learning opportunities

Spearhead and support technology-based enhancements to learning across the school

Support teachers, students, and administrators in their day-to-day technology needs

Assist with management of various cloud platforms, such as GoGuardian, Schoology, and Seesaw

Act as backup support to the Tech Team (primarily related to the absence or unavailability of the Helpdesk Manager)

Help with distribution and management of loaner devices

Troubleshoot and support the software, hardware, and systems, including classroom multimedia and student and teacher devices

Resolve technical issues reported in our helpdesk ticketing system

Assist with event setups and audio/visual equipment

Plan one-on-one and group workshops and professional development sessions

Support parents as needed through our parent support email service

Coordinate extra-curricular tech-focused opportunities for student engagement

Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements, Skills, and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred

Experience in educational environment, preferably in a comparable K-8 environment

A track record of being an innovative, committed, positive, helpful, energetic, flexible, adaptive, creative, and effective educator

Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, students and parents

A teacher’s disposition: approachable, patient, gentle, and supportive

Troubleshooting and problem solving skills

Insatiable desire to learn and dedication to educational technology

Enthusiasm to help students and teachers use technology in meaningful ways

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to work on multiple projects, with competing priorities, to completion

Experience coding in multiple programming languages preferred

Experience with current technologies used in educational institutions

A strong foundation in pedagogy and teaching methodologies integrating technology into curriculum and instruction

Understanding of Maker Movement and an interest in tinkering, making, and doing

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Salary
The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $110,000; a final determination will be based on years of teaching experience and level of education.
