Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The IT Systems Analyst works within the Division of Information Technology (DIT) at the University of Maryland, College Park. Responsibilities will focus on performing operations and maintenance tasks for current and future SaaS, PaaS, and locally hosted solutions in support of University needs. Tasks will include collaboration in support of implementation and integration of current and future systems and services, working with vendors in support of hosted solutions, and working with clients in support of their use of our services. Client interactions will include migrating services and diagnosing issues when encountered. Monitoring of systems and services, responding to alerts and performing root cause analysis are also part of the position’s responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university OR 4 years equivalent work experience;

AND

Minimum 5 years experience administering Canvas or a similar Learning Management System or hands on application administration.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent oral and written communications skills

Preferences:

Experience administering hosted applications including acting as the agent between local customers and hosted support.

Proficiency with UNIX/Linux shell scripting
Proficiency with REST & SOAP APIs
Working knowledge of the AWS environment

Salary range: $80,640 – $100,800
