POSITION SUMMARY:

As part of the Information Technology team, the Applications Specialist is responsible for supporting mission-critical Blackbaud-hosted services including the website, student information systems, learning management and scheduling systems, and financial and fundraising applications and services. Website maintenance, data management and reporting, and support of annual data imports, syncs, roll-overs, and data-merged mailings are among the critical services provided by the Applications Specialist. Strong interpersonal skills, an analytic approach to problem-solving, and well-developed data management skills are required.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Applications Specialist provides help-desk services, training, and group support to personnel in multiple offices using Blackbaud hosted services, in particular K12 (OnCampus, OnBoard, OnMessage OnRecord, and Core), Financial Edge/NXT, Raiser’s Edge/NXT, and related services. S/he monitors current use and future needs related to the effective and efficient use of these systems and collaborates on planning and implementing new development and integrations. While providing significant support of reporting and data management, the Applications Specialist is also strongly committed to documenting these tasks in order to create a resource-rich self-serve support environment. Serves as primary web-editor.

 

Working closely with other Information Technology staff, the Applications Specialist plays a key role in planning and integrating existing and future data systems and related campus infrastructure. Identifying and developing efficiencies through improved design and integration is a critical component of the work.

 

The Applications Specialist demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, an innate desire to help others, and a devotion to creating a supportive environment that emphasizes collaboration and education.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A degree in a related field (e.g., information systems, software applications & systems development), or a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in supporting client use of CRM, student information, and/or financial systems is required
  • Experience providing information systems support in an educational environment
  • Well-developed analytical and computer skills, including advanced experience with Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated knowledge of databases and sql query tools
  • Hands-on experience with web-authoring and basic page design and a thorough understanding of basic Internet technology, browser functionality, and related tools
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Demonstrates fine-tuned analytical skills and the ability to multitask
  • Excellent written, organizational, and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to self-development and skills acquisition
  • Strong work ethic
