Rockhurst University is seeking applicants for an Assignment and Technology Coordinator.

The Assignment and Technology Coordinator reports to the Associate Dean of Students and provides administrative and clerical support for the Office of Residential Life and Auxiliary Services (including conference services, international affairs, and judicial affairs). The individual is responsible for the housing application processes, housing assignments, and meal plans for all residential communities throughout the year. Processing of commuter and staff meal plans and reconciliation of all meal plans with dining services. Maintaining on-going and daily operations of the office as well as serve as receptionist and assist students and visitors when needed, all departmental correspondence and filing system (paper and electronic);and disseminating information, often of a complex nature, to students, prospective students, outside agencies, visitors, parents, etc. that may require explanation and interpretation of established university policy. Work collaboratively with the office manager to be sure office is covered during operating hours. Work with assigned conference groups to issue contracts, schedule space and process required insurance. Performs work of a confidential nature including handling confidential information regarding ADA, behavioral/discipline issues, and other sensitive information for current, incoming, and former students. Processes funds received for housing and conferences. Assists in the creation, development and maintenance of Housing Website and all on-line forms for the entire Student Development office complex. Coordinates, trains other staff with the division of Student Development, and facilitates processes in multiple software packages including, Maxient, eRezlife, Argos, and Banner. Must be extremely knowledgeable of Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel including the creation of mail merges, spreadsheets with formulas, vlookup, and concatenate functions. Preform other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; stoop, kneel and crouch and traverse stairs. The employee is frequently required to use hands to feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk, hear and interpret printed materials. The employee is occasionally required to lift and move up to 25 pounds. Position requires the ability to observe both visually and auditory and evaluate cues for policy violations.

  • Knowledge of the University and the residence hall system, of University and Residence Life policies and procedures. 

  • Must have the following abilities: to communicate well in group and individual situations; to establish rapport with a wide variety of people; to design and implement experiences to meet specific established goals; and to quickly evaluate crisis situations and respond appropriately.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum 3 to 5 years of related experience; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

  • High School diploma plus related coursework or specialized training beyond high school.
