The Assistant Director of Digital Technology and Services will lead a team responsible for driving mature development practices that best support the ideal customer experience as well as the data strategy necessary to support this vision. The ideal candidate is a metrics driven, collaborative and creative problem-solver who understands the value of technology as an enabler for organizational success. He/she is an expert in current digital strategy trends and exhibits a strong track record of success in the digital space. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a wide range of digital areas including website architecture, SEO , analytics, ad serving, and CMS development. The Assistant Director of Digital Technology and Services will manage technical staff and effectively partner with digital design, marketing and content functions. He/she will empower the team to provide quality, efficient, and consistent digital services to the university.
The Assistant Director of Digital Technology and Services will report to the Vice President and Chief Information Officer.
To ensure that essential services are provided to the university community, the employee will be required to work outside their regular working hours as needed.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree required (Master’s degree preferred) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Management, Marketing or related field.
  • Proven track record of understanding business challenges and translating to technology solutions,
  • 5-8 years of demonstrated success and experience in digital functions including (and not limited to) web and mobile application development strategy, marketing operations, e-commerce,
  • Strong experience with UI, UX, responsive web design and programming, including HTML , CSS , PHP , and content management tools such as Drupal, and WordPress,
  • 2-5 years of people management experience with focus on motivating team members and encouraging collaboration,
  • Experience with cloud web hosting is a plus,
  • Knowledge of continuous integration, automation testing, and configuration management is a plus,
  • Strong project management skills, with a positive attitude, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, Agile experience is desired,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
  • Proven ability to successfully work with vendors and agencies to produce results,
  • Demonstrated focus on gaining external industry knowledge and continued learning,
  • Ability to think out-of-the-box, challenge status-quo and drive innovation.
