Overview

NYU's Stern School of Business has a challenging opportunity available for a creative Assistant Director, Educational Technology. A key member of the Learning Science Lab, the Assistant Director, Educational Technology develops, implements, and updates the digital resources for online and onsite courses offered at Stern. The Assistant Director will collaborate and offer support in the process of developing and implementing project plans and schedules for the deployment of online courses, including working with faculty, staff, and the administration in the development of pedagogical and educational requirements. The Assistant Director, Educational Technology will lead a team of student employees and consultants in providing pedagogical and technical support in curricular design and development, create and deliver training programs, including training sessions and workshops for faculty, and will assist in the design and development of tools to facilitate product of technology-based learning products with an emphasis on the creation and production of teaching videos and tutorials. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for faculty outreach which involves writing and deploying a weekly newsletters, email outreach campaigns, social media posts, and other initiatives to engage faculty with the Learning Science Lab.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree along with 3 or more years' relevant experience or equivalent combination designing and implementing interactive experiences for onsite, blended and online learning environments. Must have experience designing and developing digital content using technologies such as HTML, Adobe Illustrator, GoogleApps, and Learning Management Systems, such as Brightspace, that employs user experience (UX) design principles and adheres to accessibility standards. Experience managing technical projects with diverse groups of people and competing interests is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required along with strong presentation skills. Experience teaching informally or formally within higher education is preferred. Experience implementing educational technology solutions at the college or university level and multimedia design experience or online course construction are also preferred.
