The University of Virginia is looking an Assistant Director of IT for the University's Housing department. The Assistant Director of IT Operations is responsible for overseeing the day to day operation of the technology supporting the administrative staff in Housing & Residence Life, Conferences@UVA, Orientation & New Student Programs, and other associated offices. In total this represents a user community of approximately 45 full-time staff and 325 student staff. 

The position is responsible for a range of services in support of the mission to provide a secure, reliable, and cost-effective technology environment. These services include managing IT staff and projects, resolving technical problems, monitoring and maintaining equipment and systems, and analyzing trends to proactively identify potential problems.  

The position will oversee performance of personnel and technology on a daily basis, taking action where necessary to ensure functionality, availability, and efficiency. The position will supervise full-time and student IT positions to see that departmental standards and expectations are realized. 

The incumbent is required to have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, or related discipline. 8-10 years of relevant and progressive experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. 3-5 years of relevant work experience, including experience supervising technical staff is also required.
