Sidwell Friends, a coeducational Quaker day school located in the Tenleytown section of Northwest D.C., seeks a full-time Assistant Director of IT Operations to support the Chief Information Officer and members of the IT Services department. The Assistant Director bears primary responsibility for the successful delivery of technology implementation projects and optimizing the day-to-day operations of the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the IT team, internal stakeholders, and vendors in the research, selection, and implementation of new technologies. She/he will also manage the financial operations of the team, including purchasing and invoice processing. On a daily basis, the candidate will work with the IT team to ensure that customer issues are being resolved in a timely manner. The Assistant Director will also lead weekly operations reviews to help the team improve problem resolution times and identify and correct root causes of customer problems.

The successful candidate will have a high degree of comfort with personal technology. This full-time, 12 month position requires strong communication and organizational skills. In addition to serving the needs of the department, the Assistant Director will work cooperatively to meet the needs of Sidwell Friends School as a whole.

A bachelor’s degree, 3+ years of experience leading or working in a technology help desk, and 5+ years of experience managing technology projects or operations, preferably in an academic environment, are preferred. This position is benefits eligible and reports to the Chief Information Officer.
