North Shore Country Day School, a JK-12 independent school near Chicago, seeks a dynamic, full-time Assistant Director of Library and Educational Technology, for the 2015-2016 Academic Year. While a bachelor's degree is required, a master’s degree is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate has between 2 and 5 years of experience. This is a 10-month position and the person would be considered a member of the faculty.

The Assistant Director should have a clear vision of 21st Century education and the place that technology and the library can play in that vision in a middle and/or high school environment. A strong technical skill set in these areas should be matched by someone with even stronger collaborative skills. We seek someone with the right mixture of initiative, follow-through, leadership, collegiality, expertise, and interpersonal skills to be an integral part of school life for students and faculty.

Because North Shore has a 1:1 iPad program 6th-12th, candidates should be skilled at incorporating 21st-century technology into teaching practices. Additionally, all candidates should be able to add to the life of the School through advising, coaching and/or supporting the School’s strategic initiatives. Ideal candidates will be believers and cultivators of the ‘growth mindset,’ excellent written and oral communicators, collaborative and valued colleagues, and life-long learners who are committed to ongoing professional development.

North Shore offers competitive salaries that are commensurate with experience. Additionally, North Shore provides an excellent employee benefits program, including health and retirement benefits, tuition support for children’s attendance at North Shore, and professional development funding to support summer study, attendance at conferences/workshops, travel, and advanced degree work. Please forward a letter of interest, a description of what successful library and technological integration looks like in an independent school with an exemplary program in those areas, resume, and listing of references to careers@nscds.org.
