Assistant Director of Technology
Job Description:
The Assistant Director of Technology is responsible for help desk support, educational technology, AV systems, databases, systems integration, and infrastructure across the school. This is both a customer-service role and an opportunity for collaborative leadership of technology efforts. This position will partner with the Director to proactively identify and improve the use of technology throughout the school's operational and academic areas. We are seeking someone who is passionate about educational technology and who is willing to lead through service to the school community. Job Responsibilities:
- Triage, resolve, or escalate all incoming help requests promptly and courteously. Communicate resolution timelines and seek to exceed expectations.
- Service and proactively maintain technology equipment across the School.
- Develop expertise with educational software systems, including the School's Learning Management System in order to support the use of these systems.
- Support AV technology needs for school events, including evening and occasional weekend events (flexible scheduling required).
- Inventory, configure, and maintain Apple devices using Mosyle Mobile Device Management and Apple School Manager.
- Manage accounts in Google Workspace for Education, 3CX phone system, PaperCut copier system, Adobe Creative Cloud, and troubleshoot problems with these systems.
- Support users with basic features of the School's Blackbaud Student Information System (SIS).
- Support data systems functionality and consistency of data between the SIS and other systems including Google Workspace, Meter, SchoolPass, Magnus, BrightArrow, KnowBe4, and 3CX.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience
- At least two years of experience supporting constituents in a customer-service technology environment, preferably at a school
- Experience supporting Apple laptops and Google Workspace for Education
- Experience with Blackbaud or equivalent Student Information System
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, PaperCut, and phone systems preferred
Other Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate well and support multiple types of users: students, teachers, administrators, and parents
- Ability to keep both digital records and physical inventory organized, updated, and effectively managed
- Ability to plan and execute projects and assigned tasks in a proactive manner to meet or exceed expectations and deadlines
- Ability to triage and juggle emergent tasks and longer-term projects
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
