REQUIREMENTS
The Assistant Director of Technology will be responsible for supervision and optimal performance of IT infrastructure operations at Grace Church School. He or she will report to the Chief Technology Officer. Grace Church School has two campuses, one at 86 Fourth Avenue and the other at 46 Cooper Square. The Assistant Director of Technology will oversee the IT operations of both campuses, including all networks, phone systems, video security, classroom displays, helpdesk and all other technology-related systems. Assistant Director of Technology will directly manage a full-time Network and Helpdesk Supervisor and five-person, part-time helpdesk staff (who share instruction, training and other Technology Department duties). 

The Assistant Director of Technology will be responsible for:

  • Network optimization (LAN, WAN and wireless), 
  • Maintenance and coordination of firewall, router, switches, DNS, access points and UPS
  • Maintenance and coordination of telephones, security video, classroom display and helpdesk operations
  • Server and LDAP setup / access
  • Backup for all servers at 46 Cooper Square (primary supervisor) and 86 Fourth Avenue (secondary supervisor)
  • Monitoring and approval of operations budget, in coordination with Chief Technology Officer
  • Coordination with Facilities Manager on IT-based maintenance requests
  • Installation and removal of hardware as needed
  • Supervision of Network and Helpdesk Supervisor
  • Supervision of cyber security
  • Aid with all IT pre-construction infrastructure planning
  • Development and maintenance of procedural documentation
  • Management of annual maintenance contracts and services
  • Tasks identified by Chief Technology Officer as needed 

Requirements for the role include a Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS or related area and a minimum of 5 years experience in the implementation, management and maintenance of information technology infrastructure and IT systems. Knowledge of Toshiba phone system and experience in educational institutions a plus.
