Title: Assistant Manager of ITS

Department: ITS 

Job Status: Full Time (12 months), non-exempt

‘Iolani School is looking for an organized, analytical, and personable IT professional to join our ‘ohana.  The candidate would be an experienced project manager who is well-rounded in IT skills including, but not limited to, user support, network administration, SIS administration, MDM administration,  A/V classroom installs and set up, and data conversions.

Education

  • Graduation from a college or university with a B.A. Degree is preferred. 

  • Desirable certifications include: PMP, CompTIA Network +, Security +, CCNA or related certifications.

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects of medium to high complexity to successful completion; able to handle multiple concurrent projects.  

  • Success in collaboratively leading teams.

  • Excellent attention to detail, excellent time management, and problem-solving skills.  

  • Five years of experience that provides some combination of experience, training and continuing education that produces the requisite knowledge and ability including experience with Windows and MacOS, managing networks and network security, and dealing with information and data systems.

  • Previous experience working in a education environment is preferred 

  • Experience with Veracross SIS, Blackbaud SIS, and/or Community Brand’s Senior Systems SIS is preferred

  • Experience with central management of AV and malware solutions.

Essential Work Functions:

  • Support the manager of ITS in organizing and calendaring the work of the ITS department.

  • Organize and coordinate the major projects and work of the ITS department.

  • Configure, maintain, and administer students and faculty using our current SIS - Community Brands’ Senior Systems.  Assist with transition to new SIS.

  • Provide instruction and assistance to students, faculty, and staff.  Oversee the daily operation of instructional computer labs and carts.

  • Install, test, troubleshoot, and perform adjustments to a variety of equipment including, but not limited to, desktop computers, peripherals, and network/telecommunications equipment which may include servers, routers, switches and other related equipment.

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain a variety of applications, Internet/Intranet, and network/telecommunications software on workstations, VOIP telecommunications devices.

  • Work with vendors to troubleshoot and support iPads, MacBooks, and Windows PCs.

  • Be versatile, creative, well-mannered, and diplomatic with a wide variety of users at different levels of technical experience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Excellent understanding of Project Management principles.

  • Highly organized, collaborative, and able to manage multiple concurrent projects.

  • Experience with JAMF/JSS MDM.

  • Familiarity with Community Brands Senior Systems SIS management and administration.

  • Familiarity with Veracross SIS or Blackbaud SIS management and administration.

  • Working knowledge of Active Directory Management and Azure cloud solutions.

  • Familiarity with SQL syntax and reports.

  • Able to quickly learn new hardware and software.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to quickly troubleshoot, test, and provide multiple solutions to complex problems

  • Must be able to respond to system outages during off-hours.

  • Able to work occasional nights and weekends.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:  

  • Full range of head, neck and back movement; unrestricted ability to bend knees, raise arms above the head, and to move hands, fingers, and wrists.

  • Ability to lift and carry 15-20 pounds without difficulty.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods, and ability to stand and/or walk for sustained periods of time.  

  • Due to work in close proximity to children, must pass fingerprinting and background clearance checks.

  • TB clearance required.

  • Post-offer, pre-employment physical test required.

About the Department:

‘Iolani’s ITS department is composed of eight ITS professionals who serve approximately 2,200 students K-12. We are a 1-1 iPad school and primarily utilize Apple products.
