Job Description:

PURPOSE: Support the use of Assumption College web resources across the campus. The Assistant Web Developer will work with the Assumption Web Developer and College departments to ensure that web resources are up-to-date. He/she will support and help train others in the use of the Drupal content management system (CMS) and assist in developing and managing departmental, instructional, and individual sites. In addition, he/she will research, develop, and implement new technologies that support continued needs and expectations of our target audience (including mobile).

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Work with the Web Developer to support and maintain institutional and departmental web pages, primarily within the Drupal CMS.

2. Support web authoring system users across the campus including training and phone support functions in conjunction with other Information Technology web support administrators.

3. Assist with the production and maintenance of web systems documentation for institutional web policies and procedures.

4. Support the College's use of social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, as appropriate.

5. Help support the integration of institutional web resources and campus portal systems as they are developed in conjunction with the Applications group.

6. Develop, implement, and maintain appropriate procedures for both locally built and outsourced web materials.

7. Plan and document all responsibilities and functions of the position. 8. Perform other duties as assigned.

9. Serves as a Campus Security Authority for Clery reporting purposes and a Responsible Employee for Title IX reporting purposes.

 

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the College as well as show respect for the Catholic and Assumptionist identity of Assumption College.

* Requires some experience with HTML editor (Adobe Dreamweaver) and CSS, as well as graphics editing software (Adobe Photoshop.

* Requires some experience with LAMP and scripting such as: Javascript, PHP, Apache Web Server, and MySQL. Mobile development is preferred. Experience with Drupal and/or WordPress also is preferred.

* Requires Bachelor's Degree with coursework in Computer Science or a related field.

* Must have strong written and oral communication skills.

* Requires the ability to interact with users, Public Affairs staff, and other IT&MS staff in a supportive, team-structured environment.

* Interacts daily with other IT&MS staff, students, faculty, and administration.

* Prototypes, develops, and maintains professional-looking and interactive web materials in authoring as well as programming environments.

* Develops and posts electronic professional documentation for policies and procedures.

* Provides one-on-one and group training in coordination with the Information Technology training programs.
