The Associate Director/Systems Coordinator oversees technology and systems in support of all financial aid functions, including compliance with federal regulations; oversees formal communication to students seeking financial aid; serves as a liaison to other campus units with regard to financial aid system needs; with the Director, supports all institutional reporting regarding financial aid; including the filing of the annual Fiscal Operations Report and Application to Participate (FISAP); with the Director, supports Institutional Research efforts to gather, report and analyze financial aid data; audits/edits financial aid web pages and catalogs; assists Director with oversight of verification processing and updates to Office policy and procedures. Also, advises and counsels students, parents and other interested parties regarding financial aid programs, verifies student files; serves as liaison between the staff and students and parents to provide conflict resolution before being elevated to the Director; Conducts on and off-campus financial aid and financial literacy presentations; participates in the growth and development of the department; Promotes safe and secure working conditions.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of financial aid and systems experience

  • Excellent direct and indirect leadership skills; strong communication and interpersonal skills; analytic and technical skills including design and implementation of electronic processes; database management experience with preference for knowledge of Banner; knowledge of financial aid programs and regulations and student aid counseling.  Plans and prioritizes tasks. Must be able to apply critical thinking skills and possess excellent decision-making abilities. Strong aptitude for detail oriented work and a commitment to provide exceedingly high level of service to students and families. Possess an administrative style that emphasizes collaboration and service with faculty, staff and students.

  • Exposure to confidential information (student financial records and files).  

  • Nights and weekends may be required.
