Position Summary

The Associate Director of Data Technology will oversee the collection and analysis of key data to facilitate the evaluation of programs and activities for the School of Education. S/he wll manage and analyze student information for recruitment and federal reports as well as be accountable for building and launching all assessments and forms for the college. The Associate Director will track performance of students as individuals, by majors, cohorts, grade level and other metrics and analyze data trends such as pass rates for different demographic groups to inform the development, evaluation and modification of the School’s programs and activities.

Position Duties
  • Manage LiveText data warehouse for strategic planning, assessment and institutional effectiveness for the School of Education. Provide on-going professional development and training to faculty, staff, and students on the use of LiveText and other technology resources. Inform administration, faculty, staff, and students on new features and best practices in LiveText.

  • Work with the Associate Director of Accreditation to implement and maintain data structures necessary to support internal and external reporting needs. Analyze and synthesize data to support faculty and the assessment committee in program decisions and CAEP accreditation requirements. Align rubrics with standards that are used for accreditation reporting.

  • Build and launch all assessments and forms. Ensure all required data, including course evaluation surveys, is collected from faculty and students each semester. Create and deploy internal and external surveys, ensuring accurate and effective collection methods. Analyze and interpret survey results. Analyze student state test scores and create reports that capture trends to inform instruction.

  • Develop predictive data models for program evaluation and analysis of student outcomes. Track performance of students as individuals, by majors, Cohorts, Grade level and other metrics. Analyze data trends such as pass rates for different demographic groups.

  • Implement Field Experience Management modules. Create and maintain Field Experience placement data.

  • Creates reports to track improvements in outcomes. Produce tables, graphs and Key Performance Indicators for internal and external accreditation reports. Develop routine and ad-hoc reports and recommendations for changes to current practices.  

  • Develop predictive data models for program evaluation and analysis of student outcomes. Track performance of students as individuals, by majors, Cohorts, Grade level and other metrics. Analyze data trends such as pass rates for different demographic groups.

  • Utilize programming and intelligence tools to develop and deploy reports and reporting solutions using tables, graphs and dashboards in support of strategic decision-making and institutional effectiveness. Download data from NYSTCE Results Edge.

  • Implement Field Experience Management modules. Create and maintain Field Experience placement data.

  • Evaluate and recommend new software and technology for use.

  • Perform other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems, statistics or related field required. Master’s Degree in a related field is preferred.

  • 3-5 years of related experience required, including experience collecting, formatting and analyzing data, and some programming experience. 

  • Experience with Ellucian Banner ERP and LiveText data warehouse strongly preferred.

  • Excellent data analysis, communication and presentation skills are required.

Work Hours

Monday – Friday 9am-5pm
