Job Summary

The Associate Director of IT Data, Policy and Privacy will help provide IT security, data privacy, and IT policy vision and leadership within the College of Arts + Sciences IT Office (CITO) and its supported clients within both the Office for the Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Multicultural Affairs (DEMA/OASD) and the College of Arts + Sciences (COLL/ARSD)’s information technology infrastructures.

This position will help lead CITO’s efforts to better communicate, consolidate, define, disseminate, and manage University and College IT practices and policies as they are applied to the numerous CITO supported departments, units, centers, and institutes within the College and DEMA/OASD in order to provide greater accountability and efficiency to the College and DEMA/OASD’s IT footprint as well as to represent CITO’s unit-level seat among the College’s IT Security Infrastructure Working Group (ITSIWIG).

The Associate Director of IT Data, Policy and Privacy will also help direct the College Information Technology Office’s (CITO) day-to-day information security, privacy and policy efforts. The position will provide a lead role in the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive information security architectures to ensure that appropriate controls, policies, standards, and procedures designed to protect the security of information are in place within the unit and its supported clients.

The position will have oversight responsibility for the various CITO operational teams in their implementation of IT controls, data and security policies and best practices.

Required Qualifications REQUIRE: Bachelor’s Degree in computing or related field and five years of a rich and practical mix of: advanced systems analysis, systems programming, and systems administration experience; advanced information security analysis, incident response, and abuse investigation experience; experience in technical staff management.

Demonstrated proficiency with Windows PowerShell, Windows application languages (Visual Basic, C++, C#, and .NET framework), VB Scripting host, JavaScript, Perl, PHP, HTML, DHTML, XML, ASP.NET, TCP/IP, UDP protocols, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft SQLDB development and server management, and ColdFusion application development and server management. The applicant must have experience in designing, implementing and managing multi-layered security architectures. Maintain a significant depth of knowledge in widely varied technology areas (networking, applications, databases, client and server OS, and security applications). Certifications: Industry standard IT Security Certifications, MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) or solid progress toward MCSE. In-depth knowledge of information security management and practice and understanding of privacy and security regulations, i.e. Indiana State Social Security Number Disclosure and Data Breach Laws (IC 4-1-10 and 4-1-11), Sarbanes-Oxley Act, FERPA, University HIPAA.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree; six years of enterprise security experience.
