Job Summary and Description

Ensures the acquisition, application and integration of information technology (IT) systems and services that support the academic and administrative strategies for the Alamo Colleges District. Leads IT security strategy, processes, practices and manages one or more of the IT Divisions. In consultation with District IT leadership, develops and manages the strategic plan and operating budget for the IT infrastructure and other departmental expenses. Takes initiative in developing and implementing a district-wide technology plan.

Reports to the District Director of Information Technology Services.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of relevant experience, education and training that equates to the required degree.
  • Five years of experience developing, implementing and managing technologies.
  • Experience supervising a large, dynamic staff.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or technical field directly related to the primary purpose of this position.
  • Nine years of work related experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Must have a valid driver license. Must be insurable through the organization’s insurers.


Motor Vehicle Report is required in addition to background check and drug screen
