Members of the Technology Team at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Day School play a strategic leadership role in advancing the mission of the School:

We are a school of inquiry, innovation, and impact. We prepare all students to be middle school ready, globally competitive, and engaged citizen leaders. Current and prospective parents of St. Stephen’s have high expectations of quality from the education of their child to the environment in which they are educated and the overall reputation of high quality and standards expected of our school.

The Associate Director of Technology position is a full time position reporting to and working closely with the Director of Technology. Responsibilities include working with maintaining the school’s website in accordance with the school calendar of events, meeting with the Innovators Team to support all EdTech initiatives, and work with the Administration team to plan and execute marketing strategies, goals, social media outreach, and other communications. Involvement in most aspects of Miami Device is also a part of this position.

This new position is for the 2015-2016 school year and may begin as early as July 1, 2015.

Education, training, experience

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Day School seeks a full time innovative and collaborative Associate Director of Technology for the 2015­-2016 school year. Versatility, collaboration, and openness to innovative technology practices and procedures is essential. Experience in a school environment as an educator is required. Web design, film and AV experience, network administration, and relative technology (IT) certifications are a plus.

Essential Duties

Maintain the school’s website. It must be current and up-to-date at all times.
Create and adhere to a plan that details the timeline of the website for the current year as well as the upcoming year as dates become available.
Collaborate with the Director of Communications in regards to photos and images used in communications.
Work closely with the Director of Technology to strategize and plan social media usage and communication goals.
Curate student and teacher digital work for the purposes of showcasing the many great projects, lessons, and activities that happen at St. Stephen’s on a public forum. This curation should be easy to find directly through our website as well as be SEO-friendly.
Work to create various and inventive ways to have online campus tours.
Learn components of the student database system (Senior Systems), as assigned by the Director of Technology, to support administration with various tasks.
Maintain an inventory of all technology devices throughout the campus and work with the Technology Innovators to keep records current as mobile devices change status and ownership.
Provide technical support to faculty and staff as assigned.
Assist with planning, organizing, scheduling and other components of Miami Device.

All technical abilities are a plus (web design, IT skills, network management, database experience)

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee may be required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, acute color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

About Miami Device

Miami Device is a two day learning event that takes place mostly on the grounds of St. Stephen’s. It is an International event that has drawn educators, librarians, administrators, and technology support personnel from 11 countries and 22 US States. Everything about Miami Device is planned and expected to be top notch. From the quality of the presenters to the well-planned topics and schedule, as well as activities that occur before, during, and after the event. This is one of the most rewarding and fun parts about this job. Currently, Miami Device is scheduled to happen biennially.
