Job Description:

The Associate Systems Administrator’s main goal is to provide uptime and usability for students, faculty, and staff at a school with 1600 users across 2 locations in San Diego. The candidate should have a strong mix of professionalism, technical skills, and experience working in a diverse environment. The candidate should also be able to collaborate and work within a team environment.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

The Associate Systems Administrator is responsible safeguarding the school’s data as well as providing a managed user experience at the desktop/mobile device level.
Answer support calls in a timely fashion
Provide Tier 1, 2, and 3 level support
Research and learn new technologies and implement them successfully
Create/modify/delete accounts, groups, and permissions
Create documentation that can be followed by peers
Create workstation images and deploy to multiple computers at once
Deploy iPads or similar devices to many users with many configurations
View logs, diagnose problems, provide solutions
Understand disaster recovery and maintain backups
Able to manage switches, routers, and firewalls
Manage phone switch and voicemail system
Monitor all networked devices and be able to respond to changes quickly
Setup and troubleshoot AV equipment such as LCD projectors.

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in a professional environment (Education sector preferred but not required)

Hyper-V/Virtualbox/VMWare virtualization
AppAssure backup solutions
Nagios/MRTG or similar monitoring software
Nortel/Avaya or similar phone switches
Spiceworks or similar call-tracking system
Active Directory/Group Policy/DHCP/DNS
Microsoft WSUS/System Center
Google Apps for Business or Education
Strong written and verbal communication skills
