Milton Academy seeks an Audio-Visual Coordinator in its Academy Technology Services department.

Reporting to the Manager of Audio-Visual Services, the AV Coordinator performs functions that allow the AV department to react to all audio visual requests for services on campus. This position supports the lower, middle, and upper schools  (K-12), staff and faculty, in the following areas: classroom technology, live events, theatrical performances, training sessions, seminars,  assemblies, concerts, athletic games, virtual events (webinars, zooms, google meets, live streams) and requires an individual to monitor and respond to tech ticket requests via email, phone, txt and freshservice. The AV Coordinator works with the AV Manager to execute event plans, maintain skills in relevant technologies, complete work flows in order to achieve a high level of internal customer support and satisfaction. 

This may involve deploying, maintaining, and installing equipment, or supervising vendors involved in the process.  In addition, the AV Coordinator assists students, faculty, and staff in the use and creation of audio and video content. The   AV Coordinator may serve as a videographer, sound engineer, lighting tech and live streaming tech for Milton Academy events.  Since Milton Academy is a boarding school, there are events at night and on weekends, so flexibility in schedule is necessary.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Deploy AV gear in the support of any event on campus.

  • Maintain all AV equipment and event gear in good working condition.

  • Install AV equipment that does not require an external contractor.

  • Update the AV schedule, as necessary.

  • Staff events, as necessary.

  • Assist, instruct, and supervise students, staff, and faculty in the use of and creation of audio and video content.

  • Record, edit, livestream and archive Milton Academy events and performances.

A high school diploma is required and 3 years of AV experience in an academic setting is preferred.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to be flexible and work collaboratively.  Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks in a fast paced work environment.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Must understand issues of confidentiality.  Must be receptive to supervision and professional development.  Experience working with customers. Experience in an educational environment a plus.  Functional knowledge of Windows and MacOS, Google, Zoom, Video Editing and Live Streaming applications: YouTube, OBS, Tricaster, PTZ, NDI, Dante, iMovie, Final Cut, WeVideo Microsoft Office,  Functional knowledge of IP-based networks.  Familiarity with compression/decompression techniques, formats, and algorithms.
