JOB SUMMARY:
The Chief Information Officer is responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, and managing staff who implement, maintain and provide customer service for information systems at Lasell College and Lasell Village, as well as at Pine Manor College in a three-way collaboration. The CIO maintains relationships with college department heads to pinpoint projects and develop responses to departmental needs. The CIO assists directly in the implementation of large-scale projects on campus.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Directs the preparation and implementation of information systems plans, client support policies and procedures, including overall technology strategy, technical direction of operations, and help desk support in order to meet the College's needs and mission statement.
2. Develops and understands individual and department needs and prepares and manages IT budgets necessary to meet such needs
3. Provides leadership, project coordination, and technical guidance and development of a customer focused IT staff for the development, maintenance, and improvement of systems and services to meet the College's mission statement.
4. Analyzes short and long term technology needs for IT, including intranet, email messaging, scheduling systems, data storage, data retrieval and back-up systems, hardware and software upgrades for efficient workflow, wi-fi, and organizational communication between departments.
5. Writes technology related grants to support growth and upgrades of IT systems.
6. Maintains effective working relationships within the IT department, Lasell College, Lasell Village, and Pine Manor College. Maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
7. Develops and assures compliance to the College security plan, disaster recovery plan and computer use policies.
8. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED BY THE JOB:

Minimum Education Level:
Bachelors, Masters preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility:
Directly supervises 3 IT managers
