Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

* Teach two sections of Intro to Coding at the upper school

* Teach one section of Graphic Design/Graphic Novel at the upper school

* Responsible for writing and developing new curriculum

* Have a commitment to assisting in the assessment, growth and success of the Film and

Digital Media Program.

* Work cooperatively with the department, faculty and staff throughout the school in

striving for educational excellence.

* General involvement as a faculty member and in assessment of student learning.

* Support and continuous quality improvement through participation.

Skills and Specifications:

* Dynamic personality and enthusiasm for teaching

* Interest in Digital Media

* Tech savvy (hardware and software, PC and MAC)

* Ability to teach basic fundamentals of coding (Must know HTML, CSS, and JS)

* Ability to use CodePen http://codepen.io, Git, Github and other open source platforms

such as Processing.

* Interest in comics/graphic novels

* Ability to teach basic graphic design through Gimp, photoshop and other apps such as

Sketchbook

* Ability to build basic graphic novels through Kindle Comic software

* Ability to teach basic storytelling skills and apply this toward the creation of graphic

novels.

* Strong collaboration skills

* Commitment and respect for diversity

* Understanding of and commitment to the school mission and goals

* Understanding of and commitment to teaching and motivating upper school students in

ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds and learning styles.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree

Desired Qualification: 2 years prior middle school or upper school teaching experience in

Digital Media or 2 years of after­school/camp experience.
