The Solomon Schechter School of Manhattan is a K-8 Jewish day school on the Upper West Side.  Our school is small by design, with one class per grade and a target size of 18-20 students per class.  In 2016-2017 there were 127 students, with a full Kindergarten of 21.  We are growing towards a full school of around 160 students.  Schechter Manhattan is distinguished by its student-centered and active approach to teaching and learning and its warm and caring Jewish community.   We are fortunate to have widespread community support and we are seeking to widen our admissions funnel and donor base through improved ongoing communications and social media engagement.

Schechter Manhattan is a self-reflective and collaborative work environment.  Faculty and staff are expected to and supported in taking a growth mindset approach to their own growth through self evaluation and goal setting, and to show self motivation in their work.  The Communications and Social Media Coordinator will  be responsible for maintaining a communications calendar, planning realistically, and following through on tasks.  We work together in a team to meet our shared mission and colleagues frequently turn to each for support.  The Communications and Social Media Coordinator would work  in partnership with the Head of School and other professional staff to present Schechter Manhattan in authentic, exciting, and positive ways.  This collaboration requires clear communication, both internally and externally.
