The communications associate is responsible for maintaining the school’s high standards of internal and external communications. Reporting to the director of communications, s/he will work to ensure that the school’s communications are coordinated across departments and campuses, meet all brand and communications standards, and are leveraged across our various web, email, and print platforms. This position is critical to the functionality of the communications team, and will be responsible for scheduling and managing all school communications and driving accountability throughout the process.
 

This is a full-time, exempt position with occasional evening and weekend work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages the school’s email distribution process including creation of emails through the school’s content management system, proofing and editing, ensuring the content is reviewed and approved by key constituents, uploading mail lists, and ultimately is responsible for sending correspondence that is error free, timely, and represents the school’s commitment to excellence.

  • Serves as main content contact for Stevenson School’s external website and internal community portals. This includes maintaining updated content, updating imagery, managing navigation, and ongoing evaluation of the website and opportunities to enhance or improve the school’s internet presence.

  • Manages the production of the weekly e-newsletter to parents

  • Manages, tracks, and ensures reliability and accuracy of the all-school communications calendar

  • Supports marketing efforts by tracking media placements and reporting results

  • Supports department in managing and processing incoming invoices 

  • Maintains and organizes an easily accessible library of past communications

  • Supports school communications needs such as the design and production of banners, programs, posters, signage, invitations, and promotional items.

  • Manages projects with various print and design vendors

  • Performs additional communications and marketing tasks as needed

  • Demonstrated experience with content management systems (preferably some knowledge of Finalsite Composer)

  • Tech-savvy with a strong ability to learn new technologies 

  • Knowledge of graphic design, brand management, video, and print production

  • A growth mindset, sense of humor, and warm personality 

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and Google online platform

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and content management systems (Finalsite Composer)

 

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications or marketing, or related course of study

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in communications and/or marketing, preferably in an educational setting
