Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences seeks a part time dynamic computer science educator to join its innovative upper school Science Department.  

The Science Department offers a variety of science courses that reflect the varied interests of the students and the ever-changing topics in the field of science.  Science faculty work collaboratively to develop curriculum drawing on various resources and deliver lessons that are relevant and focus on practical experiences that students can apply.  Students participate in project-based learning and non-traditional, alternative assessment strategies are used. This part-time position will require two or three sections of either Computer Science and/or Design & Engineering to be taught.  

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum BA or BS in computer science or relevant work experience.
  • Experience teaching Computer Science, Design, Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of current teaching trends and technology.
  • Share a love of coding, tinkering and making. 
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, p5.js, Arduino, Processing, or other modern programming language.
  • Experience planning student-centered, innovative lessons in course-aligned teams and leading students in inquiry-based experimentations in a cutting-edge research, student-centered laboratory facility.
  • Value interdisciplinary thinking and can expertly guide students as they develop a deeper understanding of our interconnected world through the study of technology and how things work.
