Immaculate Heart High School, an independent, Catholic, college preparatory school for girls, has been located on a beautiful hillside property in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles, California, since our founding by the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1906. About the Position:
We seek an experienced Computer Science and Technology Teacher who is a passionate educator and open to collaborating on departmental and interdisciplinary levels. This is a ⅘ position and calls for an instructor who will be responsible for teaching a Freshman level Technology and Computer Applications course as well as semester long Programming and Game Design and Advanced Programming and App Design electives. Classes occur in an 85-minute rotating block schedule. In addition to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and a California teaching credential, the ideal candidate should:
• be familiar with and supportive of the educational and spiritual philosophy and mission of a Catholic high school
• be technologically proficient in the use of instructional applications and emerging digital tools that support student creativity, collaboration, and academic connection beyond the classroom
• be able to work in a team-oriented environment
• have very strong interpersonal communication skills
• have the ability to design, create, and deliver innovative instructional materials and programs on the use of technology to enrich teaching and enhance learning
• Experience teaching in an all-girls school is preferred
