St. Paul Academy and Summit School (SPA) seeks candidates for the position of Upper School Computer Science Teacher. This is an extraordinary opportunity to design and implement an innovative computer science program for students in grades 9-12 in a school with outstanding students, tremendous strengths in math and science instruction, and a well-established 1:1 computing environment. Working collaboratively with the school administration and colleagues in the math, science, and technology departments, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to plan and teach new computer science and robotics courses in the Upper School and coach a new Upper School robotics team. This is a full-time faculty position beginning August 2016.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:
• a bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent field (master’s preferred);
• experience teaching computer science and robotics in a secondary setting;
• experience using a range of instructional computing languages and experience using Google Apps for Education;
• comfort using student-owned devices rather than a lab setting for instruction; and
• a working understanding of current technology trends, practices, and computer science content standards.

In addition, candidates should support the mission of SPA and the vision of the Upper School, and be able to advise students effectively and otherwise contribute to the life of the school outside the classroom.

Please submit the following information with your application to be considered: letter of interest, resume, statement of teaching philosophy, transcripts and a list of references.
