Palmetto Christian Academy is seeking a Computer Science/Technology teacher with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in education and/or Computer Technology and at least 3 years of exemplary classroom technology-based teaching. The preferred candidate will possess a Master’s degree, an ACSI and/or South Carolina teaching certificate, and have at least 1 year of experience in teaching middle or high school students in a Christian school setting.

Under the direction of the Academic Dean and Upper School Principal, this teacher is responsible for teaching Robotics and Computer Science courses. The teacher must be willing to help enhance the technology program that includes the addition of computer science-related electives for grades 9-12. The teacher is also responsible for the continuation and growth of the current Lego League robotics program. Additional responsibilities would include assisting faculty and staff with basic technology needs, preparing and accompanying students to Lego League competitions for grades 7-12, and working with community partners to extend the content to real-life application.

Candidate for this position must demonstrate a strong, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a passion for students, and an understanding of the principles and methodologies of effective teaching.
