Pace Academy is an independent college preparatory school in Atlanta, Ga., with an enrollment of 1,115 students in Pre-First through 12th grade. Pace Academy is looking for a Computer Specialist to begin July 1, 2022. This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position. This Computer Specialist will primarily focus on supporting the Lower School faculty and classroom AV systems campus-wide. As part of the IT Department, the ideal candidate will help provide tech support to anyone in need. 

 

The IT Department is a friendly, fast-moving and hard-working group with a sense of humor. The four-person team is located in a one-room office where its members constantly share and collaborate with each other. All four are involved in tech support. The ideal candidate is a people-person committed to going above and beyond to help others and has an aptitude for technology. The office is a welcoming, fast-paced place full of individuals who drop whatever they’re doing when their help is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support technology across all divisions and departments campus wide

  • Support Apple devices and software

  • Assist faculty, staff and parents with technical support cases

  • Assist in troubleshooting general hardware and software problems

  • Perform minor technical hardware repairs

  • Help teachers integrate technology into their classroom curriculum

  • Troubleshoot and maintain classroom and meeting space AV technology; including but not limited to interactive projectors, Apple TVs, televisions and audio equipment

  • Troubleshoot and maintain printers and associated components

  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related field with extensive knowledge

  • Experience and proven successful implementation of instructional technology in the classroom

  • Must be flexible, demonstrate excellent communication skills, have the ability to solve technical problems quickly and the desire to seek out and develop new strategies for improving classroom instruction and student learning

  • Independent school experience preferred

  • Experience with Veracross, Filemaker, spreadsheets, Google Apps for Education a plus

  • Must be able to work on campus, in-person
