The Northwest School is a college-preparatory, co-educational independent school near the heart of downtown Seattle. We offer a rich and challenging program to roughly 500 students in grades 6 through 12, including 80 international students, many of whom live in our campus dormitory. The Northwest School seeks a Computer Systems Specialist is the primary contact for all technical support issues. Assist users with issues or questions focusing on PC and Apple/Mac operating systems, applications and hardware. Collaborate with fellow members of the Technology team to support, maintain and upgrade network resources including printers, switches and servers. Work with the Educational Technology Coordinator and Library faculty. Reports to the Technology Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

PC/Mac imaging, installation, configuration and troubleshooting operating system, applications and hardware

PC/Mac maintenance and preventative maintenance

Maintain inventory

Perform day to day Help Desk operations

Data backup administration

Marginal Responsibilities:

  • User training on PC and Mac applications
  • Assist in ordering of systems, components and software
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the schools mission, values, and philosophy, especially related to diversity and the environment.
  • A high school diploma and three years of related experience.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems using utilities, tools and other available resources
  • Experience installing and configuring PC/Mac systems running Windows 7 and higher, and OSX 10.x
  • Experience with Windows Server 2008 and higher, Mac OS X Server 10.x
  • Experience installing PC, Mac and network based applications
  • Experience troubleshooting printers, MFPs and copiers
  • Experience using imaging products and MDM systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of people
  • Ability to allocate time and resources efficiently
  • Ability to maintain records and documentation
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A+ / Network+ certification
  • Microsoft Certified Professional: Windows 7/8, Office 2013
  • Apple Certified Support Professional or Associate
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite 6
