The Churchill School and Center is a school for 400 children with language-based learning disabilities in grades K-12. Approximately 90% of our students receive funding from the public sector to attend. Our student and parent bodies are diverse and wide-spread. We are seeking a professional to fulfill the responsibilities of Data and Research Manager. Reporting to the Director of Development, the candidate also will coordinate with our 3-member team in planning and implementing all fundraising activities within the Development Office.  This position has frequent contact with Trustees, Major Donors, Senior Administrators, Parents, Faculty and Staff. A high degree of discretion and confidentiality is required. Additionally, this position requires high level ability in interpersonal and communication skills, as well as good organization and writing ability. This is an excellent opportunity for a person with a minimum of 2 years of related work experience.

Essential Responsibilities include (but are not limited to the following):

1. Database Management. Responsible for the Raiser’s Edge database for accurate recordkeeping; gift and data entry; reporting; gift acknowledgments; invitation lists; and annual report lists. On a monthly basis, reconcile gift reports with the business office. Work with the school registrar and admissions office to ensure transfer of new parent records prior to each school year and review and format data for Development use. Implement the following new uses: year-end summary receipts for all donors, use of attributes and comments fields for tracking donors and prospects. Track parent participation in the Churchill Fund.
2. Prospect Research. Screen lists of constituents for indicators of wealth. Do in-depth research to qualify donors and prospects for annual giving, major giving, special projects and capital campaign potential. Track donors and prospects in Raiser’s Edge. Prepare profiles for the Head of School, Director of Development and Trustees for making approaches. Participate in prospect strategy meetings and track assignments, steps and next steps. Generate reports by assignments. Research and select screening/research tools that may require subscriptions and make recommendations for purchase.
3. Technology. In addition to Raiser’s Edge, spearhead use of BidPal or other auction software for the Benefit and assist with creating/updating Development pages on the Churchill Website; Push Communications technology; Video Project; and Social Media updates.
4. Special Events. Partner in organizing and generating lists for events including major donor cultivation events, the new parent dinner, annual benefit including live and silent auctions, events for alumni, staff, neighborhood gatherings and more.  Support the Events Coordinator in his/her efforts. Using event software such as BidPal, maintain and track ticket sales, donations, and item donations for live/silent auctions.  Enter or transfer sales/donations/auction purchases, etc. in Raiser’s Edge and reconcile. Generate list of attendees and print cards for check-in. Assist in staffing all special events.
3. Individual Giving. Assist parents, Trustees, alumni, past parents and other constituents in making gifts.
4. Publications. Assist with the preparation and production of the Annual Report, including generating lists and ensuring accuracy of lists.
5. Mailings. Assist in list generation and the preparation of solicitation materials for campaigns/appeals mailed to all constituencies (Trustees, parents, grandparents, alumni and alumni parents, friends, foundations, corporations and matching gifts).
 
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience are required. Excellent interpersonal, writing and communication skills, knowledge of database applications and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel are essential. We are looking for a self-starter and team player who is enthusiastic, outgoing, creative, motivated and willing to pitch in wherever and whenever needed. A plus if candidate has familiarity with Raiser’s Edge and other Blackbaud applications.
