The primary responsibility of the Data Manager is to manage, update, collect and analyze data to support Advancement Department operations while supporting the Head of Advancement.  This position reports directly to the Head of Advancement and will also work collaboratively with the Head of Finance and Operations to ensure compliance with tax and donation laws at the state and federal levels and to ensure accurate reporting in financial matters related to the processing and recognition of donations, general giving, Capital Campaign, Annual Giving, Gala & Auction, scholarships, endowment donations, fund raising and revenue generated from special events, etc.

Essential Functions:

The Data Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate records and will demonstrate a high level of professionalism and discretion when working directly with potential donors, current and past donors, parents, staff, students and the community.  This includes, but is not limited to:

 Advancement Office Management

Collaborate with Development, Admissions, and Alumni Relations departments to analyze and streamline data for maximum efficiencies.
Assist with project management when requested by the Head of Advancement.
 Development

Enter, maintain, and organize data to ensure an accurate and accessible database system.
Maintain and organize information in an efficient and effective manner to support staff, volunteers, and donors.
Maintain donor records to generate accurate general Advancement Department, Capital Campaign, Annual Fund, Gala & Auction, grant, and scholarship reports.
Process all pledges and donations in Blackbaud, forward payments to Business Office for deposit, and send timely acknowledgments and pledge reminders.
Assist with the Blackbaud reconciliation to the general ledger accounts on a regular basis.
Create pledge payment system.

Other duties as assigned by the Head of Advancement.
Other duties may be assigned which are customarily performed by those in similar roles.
Other duties may be assigned as needed to ensure the overall operational success of the school.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT, math; or similar process oriented field (Solid work experience history may be considered in lieu of degree).
Meticulous to details and highly organized.
3-5 years experience managing a not-for-profit database.
Strong computer skills with demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office and Raiser’s Edge database program.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Critical thinking skills that enable one to anticipate actions necessary and initiate follow through to accomplish goals.
Positive and collaborative nature.
