Milton Academy seeks a data manager to support the database information needs of the Development & Alumni Relations Office, including querying, exporting, reporting and maintaining database integrity through clean and accurate data entry and exceptional adherence to procedure.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Extract and report accurate and relevant data from Raiser’s Edge including creating queries, exports, and reports in support of the Development team’s fundraising, stewardship and alumni/parent relations efforts.
  • Provide data for routine projects such as solicitations, event invitations, annual report on giving, end-of-month progress reports, pledge reminders, financial surveys, etc.
  • Manage data hygiene efforts including appends, cleanup projects, and routine data entry for projects such as new parent entry, targeted ask assignments, record updates, wealth screenings, etc.
  • Run canned Raiser’s Edge reports, create ad-hoc Excel reports, and refresh Crystal reports.
  • Manage monthly and annual gift reconciliation including pledge status reporting, prepare audit reports, and create tax receipt and acknowledgement templates.
  • Maintain annual benchmarking surveys related to Development and Alumni Relations, including the CAE VSE and NAIS.
  • Assist with training of new hires; document established policy and procedures.
  • Provide back-up for gift entry particularly during high volume times such as end of calendar year, end of fiscal year and during giving challenges.
  • Respond to data needs of vendors and consultants including iModules, Agentsphere and Evertrue.

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree and have progressive experience with relational databases along with strong Excel and Word merge skills. Preferred candidates will have experience working with Blackbaud products, specifically Raiser’s Edge. An understanding of general ledge reconciliation is preferred.
