McLean School is a K-12 co-educational independent school in Potomac, Maryland, is seeking applicants for half-time position of Data Specialist to begin immediately. This position will be a half-time role, offering 50% of full-time hours.

Position Summary
The Data Specialist is an integral part of the Technology operations team with primary responsibility for updating and maintaining accurate student data.
Reports to: Technology Manager
Essential Functions
The main responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Manage contact email lists in Constant Contact
  • Update name and address information across all student databases as required
  • Manage annual student progression
  • Assist with student information reports and lists
  • Run queries and generate customized mailing lists, labels, name tags, and email lists etc., to meet needs of specific School functions
  • Maintain student, parent, faculty, and staff directories and grade level groups in Mustang Portal
  • Log changes in student information and communicate updates across all platforms: Raiser’s Edge, Education Edge, Constant Contact, Mustang Portal, and School Messenger
  • Assist in keeping record of emergency contacts, ensure emergency contacts are consistent across student databases
  • Support school events such as Grandparents & Friends Day, Auction donations, select student events and activities
  • Support the IT Office with specialty projects, inventory, and technology support as required
  • Review, clean up, and purge data in various databases to ensure accurate and consistent records management.
Position Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Minimum five years student database management, and query development
Computer Skills: Proficient with Excel, Microsoft Office, experience with student databases such as Blackbaud. Proficient computer skills on Mac and PC
