Our growing community, Green Acres School, is looking for a Database Administrator and Technology Support. We are a school for students in PreK through 8th grade. Green Acres School was founded in 1934 by parents who wanted to develop in their children a love of learning, a sense of intrinsic motivation, and a deep commitment to social justice. Green Acres instills a strong set of academic, interpersonal, and leadership skills that will serve students well in high school, college, and into adulthood.

The day-to-day operations of this position will include managing our Student Information System (SIS) and our helpdesk, assist and guiding the Technology Coordinators and support the camp during the summers. It also includes any special projects that may occur from time to time.

DBA and IT User Support Administrator

  • Managing school information system

  • Setting up user accounts in active directory

  • Conducting staff training

  • Staff support

  • Parent support

  • Web integration support


  • Assigning help tickets accordingly

  • Student Support

  • Staff Support

  • Parent Support

  • AV support (event setups)

Assisting Technology Coordinator

  • As needed

Summer Support

  • Camp transition

Skills Requirements:

  • Experience with SIS (Veracross experience preferred)

    • Should have at least 2 years’ experience supporting a SIS

  • Technology setup of desktop, ios devices, and laptops

  • LAN and wireless experience connecting and moving devices

  • Help Desk Experience

    • The ability to navigate and troubleshoot on and between OS X, windows 10 and ios/android devices

    • The ability to perform basic network troubleshooting

    • Trouble shooting printers and peripherals

    • Basic experience with Google Apps

    • Basic experience with Active Directory

    • Basic experience with Office 365

  • Teaching experience, working with both students and staff

  • An understanding of Progressive Education is preferred but not required

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move network and physical equipment up to 50 pounds as needed.
