Summary Description:  Responsible for maintaining ‘Iolani School's databases, integration between those systems and other software applications, including evaluation and implementation of systems, and management of data housed in these database systems.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems with five years database management experience, preferably in an educational setting, particularly Senior Systems, Blackbaud, Ravenna, Magnus and Finalsite.  Proven experience and demonstrated expertise with data manipulation, database development, and reporting using common tools such as Excel and Crystal Reports.  Knowledge of SQL required.  Experience with Google Apps for Education (GAFE) preferred.

Essential Functions and Specific Duties:

* Manage the transfer/integration of data between database systems;

* Participate in planning, implementing and evaluating system upgrades;

* Create, implement and maintain data file structures;

* Provide technical support to users as necessary;

* Maintain integrity of data for full life cycle from admission to the School through post-graduation

* Update demographic data in all applicable databases as needed;

* Retrieve/extract information from databases and develop reports as requested by users;

* Troubleshoot problems with database systems utilizing system utilities, and interface with vendors to resolve technical issues;

* Research, evaluate and propose appropriate database systems and processes to School leadership;

* Prepare training materials, and coordinate/conduct training for end users;
