The York School seeks an experienced, detail-oriented database development professional. The incumbent will work with the Admission & Advancement team, and Faculty Executives. The Database Analyst is responsible for managing and overseeing several databases within the School. With a focus on auditing and developing tools to support Advancement, Admission and Academic operations. The ideal candidate will have experience reporting metrics and building a database. You must be detail-oriented and meticulous in creating and delivering reports that speak to The York Schools’ Strategic Plan.

 

Responsibilities

Advancement Services:

  • Builds the database with support and direction from Director, Admission & Advancement; and Associate Director, Annual Giving.
  • Maintain and manage Raiser’s Edge database, as follows:
    • Manage annual donor recognition lists and coordinate approvals;
    • Manage constituent lists based on standard or custom criteria as needed by the Advancement team;
    • Develop a report library to inform strategy development;
    • Runs reports to obtain general or specific information to support Advancement staff and activities;
    • Proactively identify and resolve problems with data integrity or system functionality;
    • Creates and analyzes statistical reports to assist in monitoring fundraising activities;
  • Manage all constituent and gift records including adding new records, updating records, coding and monitoring general data integrity in accordance with best practice and organizational processes
  • Support the prospect management process by maintaining records, assisting with moves management, running reports, conducting research and ensuring relevant documentation is stored in Raiser’s Edge
  • Conducts prospect research and assists with moves management
  • Identify and make recommendations to Advancement leadership team on effective processes and practices relative to database management and reporting
  • Other duties as assigned

Academics

  • Create metrics, with the support of the Academic Leadership team, that demonstrate that The York School is fulfilling its academic mission and delivering Academic Excellence JK -12.
  • Support the implementation of metrics that illustrate that the school is providing Academic Excellence.
  • Other duties as assigned

Admission & Communications

  • Helps identify school-wide metrics through analytics and survey data while providing analysis on micro/macro trends for both Admission and Communications at the School
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s or College degree
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with database management
  • Experience in Fundraising database management (preferably Raiser’s Edge) and leveraging a CRM
  • Strong analytics background
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs, specifically Excel
  • Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
  • Able to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed
  • High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information
  • Track record of demonstrating initiative
