Key School seeks a personable and skilled  Database Manager to serve as an integral part of its technology team.  The position is responsible for the development and maintenance of all of the School’s databases, including Senior Systems, Blackbaud and connected secondary databases/services.  The Database Manager reports to, and works with, the Director of Information Technology and Innovation to meet the operational and pedagogical goals of Key School.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serves as the primary point of contact and manager for the Senior Systems product suite, including Registrar’s Office, Student/Parent Addresses, Dean’s Office, Accounts Receivable and Campus Store; and the additional databases listed below:  
    • Blackbaud
      • Financial Edge
      • Raiser’s Edge
    • Campwise
    • Haiku
    • Magnus Health
    • Finalsite
    • Finalsite Apply
    • Pick-A-Time
    • Naviance
    • BlackBoard Connect

 

  • Oversees and maintains the major IT applications and systems, which run either on Key School  internal servers or in the cloud. The Database Manager supports and interfaces frequently with key power users in various departments, including:
    • Admissions Office
    • Advancement Office
    • Business Office
    • Communications Office
    • Divisional Administrators and Administrative Assistants

 

  • Understands the data flow between data systems and applications and works with the vendors and Key School end users to troubleshoot integration issues.
  • Supports divisional offices with annual tasks such as academic year calendar set-up, end-of-period updates, scheduling, and the posting and publishing of report cards.
  • Supports the divisional offices with developing new queries and Crystal Reports.
  • Supports the entire School community with database and web user account creation and access, as well as security group assignments for new faculty and staff.
  • Oversees and executes major data projects, including system migrations.
  • Collaboratively envisions the School’s long-term database integration and assesses the needs and capacity to meet that integration.
  • Conducts user refresher training as necessary.
  • Regularly contributes to the maintenance of the School’s IT/database documentation.
  • Creates reports, migrates, imports, and exports data.
  • Manages the database cycles of enrollment, graduation, employee hiring, and employee termination.
  • Works with third-party contractors as necessary.
