The Database Manager serves as primary entry person and manager of ESA’s Blackbaud School Management Solution database system for all divisions which include Academics, Enrollment Management, Extracurricular, and Core.   He/she serves as the primary point of contact and custodian of student information and records, performing tasks associated with the collection, maintenance, archiving, and release of student records to include serving as Registrar.  The Database Manager provides technical support for the Development fundraising team by designing new queries, reports, data analyses, and prospect research through Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and Raiser’s Edge NXT.

The person in this position is a team player and possesses the ability to take initiative, work independently as well as collaboratively, organize, assess and prioritize in order to meet multiple deadlines. Maintaining confidentiality is crucial to the position as well as managing multiple tasks to meet deadlines while staying organized.   The incumbent is able to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing, and master the Blackbaud Suite products including updates, upgrades and other current and future improvements. 

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs data entry of multiple constituencies maintaining the confidentiality and security of information. 

  • Coordinates and works closely with the Development Office on donor information management.

  • Manages the database cycles of enrollment, withdrawal and graduation.  Calculates GPA as required for high school transcripts/report cards.  Prepares and verifies current and final transcripts.

  • Oversee faculty entry of student grades and comments into the database.  Reviews and sends interim reports and report cards to families each quarter.

  • Serves as a resource for advanced list creation and similar database queries, filters, specialized reports; migrates, imports, and exports data.  Provides user support and training.

  • Collaborates with various departments to ensure accurate and auditable records and databases.

  • Superb verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, faculty and staff

  • Strong eye for detail and accuracy

  • Highly organized, with exceptional problem resolution and analytical skills.

  • Possess a foundational understanding of technology and ability to learn various computer applications

  • Knowledge of database principles
