THE OPPORTUNITY

Elmwood School is seeking a Database Manager responsible for establishing business rules, maintaining documentation of data and reporting protocols, and assisting in the development and implementation of best practices for the management of databases including the assurance of database policies and procedures, data integrity, data extraction, report customization and analysis. The Database Manager will assist staff with a variety of databases including Raiser’s Edge and Senior Systems. He/she will play a lead role in assisting the school as we move towards implementing a new, integrated database.

The Database Manager will also manage all of the activities, systems and processes related to student academic records, registration and performance data. The Database Manager serves as the official authorized keeper of the Senior School’s student records and acts as chief scheduler, with oversight of academic and examination schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS:

●    Bachelor’s degree required and three to five years of experience in managing a complex database.
●    Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, analytical and planning skills.
●    Initiative and independence in carrying out responsibilities.
●    Excellent organizational skills and accuracy with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and a variety of demands.
●    Strong self-motivation and the ability to work as a team member.
●    Commitment to maintain confidentiality and a high degree of accuracy in alumni and donor records.
●    Must be able to work in a school environment which is fast paced.
●    Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment, spirit of cooperation and positive reaction to change and conflict resolution.
●    Demonstrated motivational and problem-solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission.
●    Aptitude for the management and effective use of information systems in support of a development program.
